St. Michael's Homebound Ministry

We are a small group of men and women who are Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist (formerly called Eucharistic Ministers) and who are devoted to bridging the gap between the spiritual and physical aspects of the Church and Catholics who are not able to attend mass. We recognize the importance of providing that link to the Catholics we serve and we have a long-term commitment to their spiritual lives and to our mission.

We go to homes on a weekly basis to bring the Holy Eucharist to the homebound. We are blessed with enough members to extend our ministry to parish members who are unable to leave their homes to attend mass.

We also hold weekly Communion services for about 70 individuals at the Cherry Creek Nursing Center, Hospice of Metro Denver, Cherry Creek Retirement Village, St. Andrews Village, and Beth Israel at Shalom Park retirement and nursing center. We sing, read from the Scripture, pray, and share in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. Once a month, Father Fox and Father Tran celebrate mass at Beth Israel at Shalom Park and Cherry Creek Nursing Center, respectively. Our Ministry works closely with the staff at each facility.

If you know of an individual who is homebound or living in a facility and who would like to have a member of our ministry bring them Holy Communion, or if you are interested in becoming a member of the ministry, please contact Jeanette Jamieson at 303-690-4301.
