Individual Music Ministry Areas
Cantor Ministry — Cantors are the primary leaders
of sung prayer at all the Masses, especially during the Responsorial
Psalm. Cantors must study Liturgy, have some vocal training, and be
at seasonal workshops.
Rehearsal is on your own, and must be arranged with the accompanist.
Accompanist Ministry - The role of accompanists is
very important, as they set the pace and the tone of the music. An accompanist
is more than a good piano player or organist. He/she must know his/her
craft very well, know the liturgy and be prepared for anything. Rehearsing
is essential, whether with a choir or the cantor. Seasonal workshops
are required.
Call the Parish Office for more information.
Instrumentalists — The addition of different instruments to the liturgy can enhance the prayer experience of the faithful. We, at St. Michael's, are wonderfully blessed to have guitarists, flautists and drummers.
If you are interested in sharing your gifts, please the Parish Office, 303 690-6797.
