Ambassador ministry
Our Mission
The mission of the Ambassadors Ministry is to strengthen the sense of belonging to our Christian community at St. Michael the Archangel church. Our goal is to reach out within our neighborhoods to nourish fellowship in our parish community. This is a challenge as the parish includes about 3,400 households and over an estimated 10,000 individuals.
About one-half of those households are located in relatively close geographic clusters called neighborhoods. One household or individual within each of the approximately 250 neighborhoods will act as an ambassador, providing an additional link to St. Michael the Archangel church and the parish community through direct contact.
Our Duties
- Establish and maintain personal contact (phone or visit) with each registered family in the neighborhood.
- Arrange a gathering of your neighborhood at least one-to-four times per year. A suggested list of group activities is included in the Ambassador manual. Record information about each gathering on the ACTIVITY report and return to the church office.
- Deliver and offer to discuss parish material when and as provided by the parish pastoral staff and/or when a neighbor requests information.
- Attend periodic Ambassador meetings; no more than 3 per year.
- Serve as a Neighborhood Ambassador for a minimum of one year, barring unforeseen circumstances.
- Agree to perform tasks as described.
