WORKCAMP '04
Workcamp 2004 will be the Nez Perce Nation Workcamp in Lapwai, Idaho.  We will leave Aurora on June 17th and return on June 27th.

NEXT YOUTH MEETING
Sunday, May 2nd, 7:00 PM ***BRING YOUR PARENTS***
PACKING is the theme for Sunday's meeting.  Now's the time to start thinking about the stuff you'll need for Workcamp.

**Tools
Yes, you need tools for Workcamp.  You'll receive your tool bucket and basic tools list at the meeting.
**Sleeping Gear
Make sure you have a sleeping bag, air mattress (check for holes) & pump or a mat of some kind (the floor gets hard) & a pillow.
**Bags
You'll need 2 duffle-type-bags, your "CAMP BAG" and your "ROAD BAG" (what goes in which? - more about that later).  You'll also need a backpack for the vans.
**Clothes
Plan appropriate clothes and shoes for HARD, DIRTY work at camp.  Clothes that can be ruined.  Goodwill and ARC are great places to shop for work clothes cheap (if you can't find something in your brother's or sister's closet).  Pack comfortable clothes for the trips there and back, & your favorite shorts, jeans, and T-shirts for evening programs.  It might be cool in Idaho, so bring long pants & don't forget your swimming suit.
**Help
Ask a veteran workcamper.

OFFICIAL WORKCAMP APPLICATION
At Sunday's meeting you will receive your OFFICIAL GROUP APPLICATION.  Bring your parent(s) to the meeting so they can fill it out. (Time's running out & we need to get these mailed to group).  You will need your health insurance information and the date of your last tetanus shot..

MONEY
Your full $550 should be in by now, but if not, we'll still take it!!

All checks should be made out to St. Michael the Archangel Parish with your name in the memo box.  All donations are tax deductible and nonrefundable.

COMING ATTRACTIONS
The coming month & a half is BUSY!!!  So mark your calendars and PLAN AHEAD!!!

May 15 - Hopefully another round of Cosmic Bowling?? (More details at the meeting)
May 23 - Mass & clean up at St. Michael's.  We'll attend 12:15 mass together and then get to work.  Dress for hard work (wear a Workcamp shirt) and bring work gloves.  We'll provide the food!!!
June 6 - We'll be building ladders to take to Workcamp from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.  Then we'll have a going away party for Fr. Crissman from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  There will be food!!!
June 17 - 27 - Workcamp
June 26 - Guppy Fest
July 23 - 25 - Steubenville of the Rockies

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need Workcampers to hand out Albertson's cards at the pancake breakfast after each Mass on Sunday, May 23rd.  Albertson's donates money to Workcamp each time one of these cards is used.  Please call Kim 720-233-9681 if you can help!!! THANK YOU!!!

ANOTHER NO-BRAINER FUNDRAISER!! Bring in those old cell phones.  There will be a bag or box at the youth bulletin board.
