The mission of the Welcome Ambassador Ministry is to strengthen the sense of belonging to our Christian community at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.  The goal of the ministry is to reach out to new parishioners to nourish fellowship in our parish. 

Ministry Responsibility Description

Brief description of ministry: The mission of the Welcome Ambassadors Ministry is to strengthen the sense of belonging to our Christian community at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

Qualifications: All members of the parish are welcome, in particular, parishioners gifted with a warm, caring, and welcoming spirit of community and a desire to grow in love and service to the Lord. A positive and outgoing attitude, a sense of humor, communication skills, and the ability to self-motivate are helpful.

Training: New members are assigned a “mentor” for the purpose of training in all aspects of the ministry.

Time Commitment: Approximately 30 minutes a month making telephone calls to new parishioners and, when requested, providing a tour of the church.

Miscellaneous: It is often difficult for people in a large church to understand that they are a valuable and cherished member of the parish. Ambassadors reach out to new parishioners by providing caring and friendly assistance in acquainting the new member with the organization and ministries of the parish. Several new parishioner materials are available.
